Actionscript has been around since, well ask the librarian for the history section. But it does serve some use. To many AS1 is useless and out dated but many of the AS2 codes / tutorials out there use AS1 code standards.
Eg. Whenever you put code on a movieclip, that’s AS1 and yet that is what we teach. In fact that has been out dated since AS1. But i’ll discuss that then.
Actionscript 2 brought happiness to the world. In fact I believe it still does. As a coder in 2010 still using AS2 I feel left out of the community and yet I continue for one reason : it’s easy.
Many of you will disagree and rightly so, for I too believe that AS3 can bring much better results. But this idea of simplicity and logic allows me to organise my code in a useful way.
Actionscript 3 was initially introduced in Flash CS3 and has become very popular.
As a blogger it is my duty to learn new languages, as a programmer this annoys me and excites me.
Actionscript 3, to me sounds annoying as you have to have everything in the timeline. And in some cases have to write the AS in a different file?!?
But, the amount of API’s there are makesme want to learn it completely. So, after I finish my latest project I will finish learning AS3. I mean, WE will learn AS3 and I will publish my experiments and newly learnt code.
HTML, HyperText Markup Language, is the most common markup for webpages. It offers structure to web pages and allows embedded objects such as; flash, images, video. Not only this but it also includes the format for interactive forms. HTML can also load in external scripts such as javascript which can alter how the page behaves or add effects to elements. HTML can also load in CSS templates to design the layout of the page.
So as we can see this is a very useful web code.
PHP, Hypertext Preprocessor, is a very well known language. With its primary purpose as a dynamically generated engine then it is very useful for interpreting and displaying data from search fields or user data.
In this way it is most widely used for user interaction or dynamic creation such as; forums, blogs, user systems, database interaction and user populated websites.
CSS, Cascading style sheets, or most widely used i HTML and are blocks of code helping to layout the web page. Some javascript functions can use css to create an effect or just as a static display. CSS is designed primarily to enable the separation of document elements and to style the page with; colours, fonts and borders.
Why use a table, when you can use CSS? Don’t you want control?
AppleScript is a scripting language created by Apple Inc., and built into Mac OS. More generally, “AppleScript” is the word used to designate the Mac OS scripting interface, and so the user can create; extra effects, interfaces or just make their life easier by using the simple code.
There are many tutorials on the internet in how to use it but is only available with Mac OS.
I have used this many times to; create files dynamically, delete empty folders and even backup my memory pen when active.
JavaScript is an object-oriented scripting language used to enable client-side access to objects within the language. I use it a lot with HTML to add the Php into HTML when i cannot use Php. Although not as powerful as Php it can be used to create stunning effects. JQuery, The coda slider and more are built on Javascript.
Object orientated programming is increasing and the dedication of Javascript is too. What comes next?
C (pronounced /ˈsiː/ see) is a general-purpose computer programming language developed between 1969 and 1973 by Dennis Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for use with the Unix operating system.
It has been replaced by C++ in the more recent years of programming but has remained part of us ever since. Haha, no I was not alive back then…
In fact, it is one of the most popular languages to program in – of ALL TIME! And in-fact very few computer systems do not provide a C compiler. C++ has replaced it in the fact that it began as a simple extension.

I’ve always thought of C(++) like java where you write the code and then compile it. But hey – it’s new (actually it’s not) but it’s still interesting.
